Using football kits in an animated video? Logos, badges?

Hi all, newbie here, but this is the exact sort of forum I've been looking for to try asking this question!

I make animated videos on youtube and am currently making a football video. Hypothetically, if I recreate a Manchester United kit (just as a well known example) and recreate an actual goal in an animated style from scratch, could I run into any licencing/copyright difficulties?

Is it any different to if I happened to be wearing a Manchester United shirt and filmed myself and friends recreating a famous goal? I'm pretty certain I wouldn't get in trouble for that? (Although my total lack of ability may scupper that one as being a possibility! ;))

I do have the alternative of course of going with a generic red kit to get around such an issue, but I feel some of the appeal of the video may be lost.

If anyone could shed any light on this it would be much appreciated!

As long as the logo isn't the central piece/isn't the main selling point/does not confuse the viewer (go figure) and you'll be OK.
Look up "Fair use of logos" for a bit more info.
