Use Of A Green Screen - Advice

So I have a green screen (well cloth haha) that I've had for a while and I've thought about using it in my videos for when I record myself.

Can anyone give me some advice on best way to use it? I've just tried to use it while recording a game, and I can only get half of the green to disappear due to only the lighting on one side. Will I have to use both lights and make it unbelievably bright? Or is there an easier way?

Once I've finished editing the video I may upload it depending on how good I can make it look.

Thanks guys.

It's all in the lighting, there has to be lots of it and it has to be uniform.
Hopefully someone that does gameplay videos has some experience.
I use 2 softboxes (with 4 85W florescent bulbs each) to light my green screen and Adobe Premier to edit out the green. Even then it wasn't perfect but good. Unfortunately unless you have a big room, that may not be practical.
In short = lots of even lighting.

Yea I think I need to play abit more with lighting. I've got some really nice bulbs, not sure what kind they are as they came with the kit, I think if next time I have both of them on the lighting should be good enough...I hope anyway

We have a small room that I made smaller with some sound proofing. We use like 6 LED light panels that can be colour adjusted.

Our problems are:
The camera shoots only 8bit in 4K but 10bit in 1080p???? Hmm Higher the bit you record in the better colour which helps with chroma keying the green out.
We should have bought the bigger brothers of the LED light panels we have. Doh!!!
I wish we had more space! 2,600mm x 2,900 x 3,4000 is a bit small once you get your gear in there. for stand up and deliver new and reviews it would be fine.
More lights are required for countering the shadows, Thank god we have knobs to adjust each panel but even then we chase our tails.
Try not to use cheap ebay green screen like us. We are sticking with it for now but if we move into a new place like a shed we will invest in proper legitimate green screen paint and a beautiful flat wall.
Also I try and shoot in a lower F/Stop on my DSLR camera. f3.2 to f4.0. They say video should be recorded at f5.6. Not sure where I read it to quote it but the higher the F Stop the sharper the background and more shadows, creases - imperfections are seen.
Don't move your hands or body around to much if you have a tight composition or small green screen. you will either have your limbs outside the green screen with no backing or it can be hard to edit the video with crops or if you want to push it to a corner or have something else up close and then you overlap.

Hope this helps. Im sure some or most you already know. Just had to get it out there where we have stuffed up. Some of our videos have green screen. Try and pick the uneven colour coming through the video. LOL

Thanks for that post and the images! I'm currently at work so can't see them properly. But will defo check them out when I'm home.

Hoping to use my screen more as I think it could make my gameplay videos and vlog (which I might start soon) look better.
