Would I be able to upload the trailer IGN put out there today? I haven't seen much uploads but that may just be me! Would I get a copyright strike for posting it? I plan to give my input at the end and such..

Thanks.

If you're going to speak over it (I mean all the way through it), I can't see an issue as long as you are not monetizing and give credit to where the video came from.

A lot of people just reupload videos like this for the views which is a bad way to conduct business.

I'f I give credit i'm not sure but wouldn't it be alright to moNetize it?

I've seen people graffiti and vandalise stuff before, I'm contemplating doing it myself since I've seen many people do it, I figure it's okay and not against the law.
Yea seriously, I feel like youtube should have some kind of test/study before it lets you become a monetized partner. I keep seeing the same misinformation/confusion/wellisawhimdoitwhycantiWTF kind of questions quite often.
I saw some YouTubers monetizing the content..
That doesn't mean much. It's possible that whoever reuploaded it has permission or more likely uploaded and got hit with a content id claim (ads show up, but its the claimants ads and not the users). Either way no, you can't usually monetize trailers unless you have permission or doing some indepth analysis (and even then its not a guarantee)

Yep, I noticed they added copyright info to the upload page about 1yr ago probably to help stop some of the misinformation but I doubt it helps. There should be some sort of test although all of it is covered in the agreement people signed when they pretty much made a YouTube account. Whether you're a partner or not copyright still applies.

That being said publishers need to be contacted before using a trailer, even if you have permission to use their gaming content (and even if there's a press kit available) since a trailer is for marketing purposes. From a publisher's perspective I wouldn't want any channels associated with my trailers due to the risk of confusion, bad publicity if the channel provides low quality content or possibley vulgar content and many other reasons. You can contact Rockstar but I can already predict a flat out "no" from them. Those people uploading the trailers are just doing it for a quick view boost. I've said it once before and I'll say it again, youtube don't give a s**t about fair use, you need 1 of 2 things: 1) you need to own the content you upload or 2) you need to have permission for the content you upload.
