Upload Speed Help!

Hello yttalk,
I have recently recorded my first ever video using my HD PVR in 1080i. The gameplay and commentary was around 11 minutes long. However, when I tried to upload it to youtube, it told me that it would take 40 hours! How can I make this time much shorter?
Any help would be appreciated,

Yeah, now you can see why many famous Youtubers have to move homes just to get a better internet connection. Imagine being Shaycarl who uploads 30-40 minute long HD videos DAILY!! You would have to compress the video i'm afraid this will cause a loss of quality but it's the only way.
 
The issue lies in your internet. Uploading via site takes much longer than through media player, but either works, I suppose. The PVR can save in really high file sizes, you can render the file down to size with Camtasia Studio, It can make an 11 minute video under 500 mb and you'll have no issue uploading that.

You're probably running 100kbs download speed, or something miniscule like that, and that means your upload speed is even LOWER, hence the long upload time.


OR, Youtube is being screwy, as is the case lots of the time.
