Updating Thumbnails?

Does anyone know exactly how long you need to wait for a thumbnail to be updated? I find it just changes randomly or I have to constantly re-upload the new thumbnail for it to do anything. After I uploaded last week I realised a mistake in the thumbnail that I made and changed it to the fixed one, but it still hasn't updated properly.

Normally it just does it instantly for me..If it doesn't I normally just re-upload it.

Usually it instantly update or it take a few hours or even some days to update. Try to clear your browser cache see if it works.

I usually have to clear my cache.
It's usually pretty quick, but sometimes you just have to clear your cache to see the update yourself.

It may take a while. It may show up in your channel, but not when people find your video via search etc. One way to test is it, is to drop your link into perhaps a facebook post and see what image it defaults to. If it's the old one, it's not updated.
