unskippable video ads

Hey! So one of the options on ad type when I monetize a video is a 'skippable video ad'.

What I'm wondering is if I don't check this box, then will it mean there are UNskippable video ads on my videos? I've been noticing on some videos I'm watching (from other people) there are video ads that you can't skip, but that's not necessarily an option that I have on my monetization, so I don't know where they are coming from.

I'd prefer not to have any video ads on my videos, but if by default there will be some type then I will at least make them skippable.


Hopefully all of that makes sense haha.
 
Oh interesting, I don't have the option for non-skippable ads or bumper ads, but I have the other 4. Maybe they are rolling them out slowly or something, or maybe you need to meet a certain video length?

It's a good question and I agree it's a bit confusing. The quick answer is no. If you don't check "skippable ads" then that only controls the "skippable ads". So it will turn skippable ads off, but that doesn't then turn on unskippable ads. :)

Unskippable ads are a separate option with a separate checkbox. They aren't available to all channels. If you're with adsense, you have to ask for the option to be added (by contacting YouTube support or a partner manager for bigger channels.)
