Trending: Youtube making us use our full REAL names??

I went to reply to a comment just now and it asked if I want to display my full name. Even though it's pretty easy to find me as I am branding my name..I don't like the idea of using my last name. I think it can be a good thing because people will "behave" more like on FB. Maybe some changes in rules on youtube would be more effective than a forced change. This wouldn't affect me as much as others' who go under alias names..I am curious to see what those ppl think?
What do you think of this?

I didn't change mine, I want my videos and content to stay branded. As for anyone I think. If people owned a company they wouldn't have it as Mike Steven's auto repairs. You'd have something branded to make it memorable.
Charlieissocoollike is known not by his name but his screen name.

I didn't change mine either. It just seems a bit pointless. Chances are, someone else out there has the same name as you anyway, so I don't even see how it'd work if everyone did it :p

Nice replies so far. I like where this is going. Yes a brand is what you build. It can be your name (in my case) but I think it's pretty pointless for others' channels and their brands that are built around make believe..or character type names.

I don't really like people knowing my name, it's not because people can find me and throw angry dogs at my house, but rather because it's something I just don't like.

On my other channel YouTube offered to use my full name and it came up with a box containing eight small boxes, in not ONE of those boxes did it say "I don't want to use my full name" it had everything except that, why can't Google just understand some people just don't want to use their names?
