Trending Topic Technique

People use this technique all the time by making videos surrounded by current things going on in the world in an attempt to get tons of views. Honestly I just see this as a desperate attempt for exposure and really shows a lack of creativity from youtube content creators.Based off of just how many youtubers actually use this technique. It gets quite annoying to me thus why most of the time I wont bother to watch them.Im not referring to channels who have done this maybe in 1 or 2 of their videos but channels simply based off of popular topics. So I wanted to know what you guys think. Do you think there just a desperate cry for views? Lack of youtube creativity? Or do you even use this technique yourself?

Channels that do that are bad. The videos they produce are so rushed and sloppy. They don't actually care about what they're making, just as long as it gets views.
For example, Gangnam Style. There are like, hundreds of parodies of it. None of them are good. They're only made for the sake of hopping on the latest bandwagon.

So many channels are doing this- and YT is giving the boosts 2 do it also - 99%
Of it is crap – the old saying of cant beat em join rings to mind – but I am 100% original I have not sold out ….

But I may have 2 partake in order to get some base exposure …….compromising my principles ----mother forgive me

Unfortunately, marketing on a budget of $0 leads people to do some desperate and somewhat unsavory things just to get some attention to their channel.
It doesn't matter how good your content is if you can't get exposure, which is why corporations spend millions to advertise new TV shows.
So... I don't see a problem with it, although I question how effective it really is.

If I have a video that is related to some new trending topic then I'll change my title, description and tags so my related video will show up in searches and related to the new vid that is trending. Nothing wrong with that. As long as my engagements stay above average then I am doing what youtube wants!

JeanYuss - thats a nice signature track homes --- my head was bobbing ! still is

Jumping on the bandwagon is lame in my opinion. Sure, I'd probably talk about really stupid trends but that's about it.

Well we all want to be entertained right? why not listen to someone talk about what you are interested in. There is one channel that has over 200,000 subs based off of doing commentary on current videos and news.

i feel as i have not made a video, talking about current trending topics maybe a good place to start out, or even a few videos in. But doing it all the time is just something i wouldnt want to do, its not your own material as such. But if it is working for some people then good on them :D
