Everyday, I look at how people are finding my videos under "Traffic Sources" in the analytics. I'm curious if anyone knows what 'YouTube channels' and what 'Direct or unknown' means.

Thanks, though it just seems odd to me I'm consistently getting around 1 hour of watch time through that way. I wish there was a way to find out what link people are clicking on.

I had a look at your channel, and maybe it's because people are sending the links to inspire people in need? Some helpful advice by the way.

Hey!
I think that clicks treated as 'YouTube channels' are clicks from your own channel or playlists on your channel or someone else's channel
Like when a viewer visits your channel and clicks on your video
Or when a viewer visits your friend's channel and opens their playlist (e.g. Liked videos) (that has your video added) and clicks your video from there

Yes, I always believe 'Direct or unknown' is definitely from people cut and pasting the link directly to their browser. So it could be from anywhere really. E.g you have your video on reddit and some of them would copy the link, open new tab and go.Everyday, I look at how people are finding my videos under "Traffic Sources" in the analytics. Now "YouTube channels" is always a mystery to me because after a year+ on youtube, I've got a lot of different channels which are not mine, some personal channels, some big channels but I never found the answer as to why or how their names appear in the list.
