To those with the skills to pay the bills.

I was just wondering mainly for the guys and gals with bigger channels, what were your subs, monthly views like when you started earning enough money from Youtube to be able to pay some bills?

Also is there anyone here that actually does Youtube as their full-time gig?

Just curious. Cheers.

I kind of technically do YouTube as my full time gig, except not through my channel.
To kind of answer you question though, it'll depend on a channel by channel basis. Especially on their overall CPM and other such options.

It all depends on what you consider enough to pay the bills is.

The general rule of thumb used to be $1 for every 1,000 views. Nowadays most channels need closer to 2,000 views to make that $1.

At that rate, figure you'd need around 2M views a month to earn $1,000 and go from there.

What industry and where in the world videos are watched can significantly change earnings though.

Wow really? I always heard that generally its $2 per 1,000 but, I guess that's why it's good to ask these kinds of Qs.

That will likely be the case for December, but, on the whole, it hasn't been that good in a few years.

Otherwise, like I said, it really depends on location of views and topic. A video about laser hair removal being watched in California will pay infinitely more than a daily vlogger in Zimbabwe.
