So you wanna start your very own YouTube show? Well then be sure to read this useful information. 1 top thing to know when starting out on YouTube is your very likely NOT gonna become famous over night. It takes hard work and dedication to become known and famous on YouTube. Some key things you need to know before starting a YouTube channel is:

1. What is my channel gonna be about? - I'd suggest you don't even make your channel until you know what you wanna do. When deciding what your channel will be about think about things you enjoy. For example if you like football maybe you'll wanna talk about Football news & games.

2. Channel Name - After you decide what your channel will be about you need to decide a name for your channel. Name the channel something good so people will get interested on what your videos are about. For example if your channel will mainly be about Football news name it something "FootballNewsReporter"

3. You first video - Your first video is very important. You need to make it good and get right to the point of your show. The reason why your first video is so important is because if your first video is good then people will start talking about you and leaving comments and subscribing. If your first video is not good then people won't wanna come back to watch other videos of yours. So it's important to make an impact in your first video

After you've gotten these key things done I'd suggest the following to build a fanbase. :

1. Be alive in your videos - Don't just sit there at a desk in your videos talking and looking board. This won't attract a fanbase and people won't watch you. Be alive and energetic in your videos! Connect with your viewers and ask them what they would wanna see in your next video!

2. Tell your friends & family - Once you've done your first video tell a few of your friends and family members to check them out and ask them what you think. If they like them tell them to spread the word to their friends so they'll watch your videos.

3. Social network advertising - Once you got your channel up and running be sure to get your show out there on social networks! Create a Facebook & Twitter page just for your show! Update them with news regarding your channel and latest videos! Once you start to get a lot of people on your Facebook & Twitter pages your fanbase will expand and grow more each day and everyone will watch your newest videos moments after there uploaded to YouTube!

4. Ignore the haters - This is probably my MOST important tip IGNORE YOUR HATERS! No matter how good your content is on YouTube there will always be someone to hate on it. Don't feel bad because trust me everyone has YouTube haters. My best tip to respond to them is to simply ignore them and only have your attention to the people who like your videos! In the event someone starts to thereat you on YouTube just because they don't like your videos simply block them. Don't say anything to them and most of the time when there is a hater your fans will stand up for you. So don't deal with haters it's just a waste of time.

I hope these tips have helped you! Take it from me It's hard work building a YouTube channel. Oh I almost forgot upload videos offend like once ever 2 weeks or something like that as your fans will keep interest on you. I've been on YouTube for over 3 years now so I know what I'm talking about! If you have any questions feel free to ask! Good luck!

I agree with everything but the first video one. That's pretty irrelevant. I believe that you get better as whatever you do on youtube as you keep doing it. And your first video almost NEVER gets you any attention. But yes it's always good to give it your 100% whether it's your first video or if it's your 1000000th video.

very cool very cool! how important do you think social media is though? like, how much more difficult does it become if you try to keep it private? (haha thats what im trying to dooo)

Well I always think social media is very important. It might be a little more difficult since your trying to keep it private. My advice would be to open a Facebook & Twitter and set them on private that way you can decide who follows your Twitter or Facebook and advertise when you post a new video so you can still get views hope this helps!
