Thumbnail queries

Has anyone had to re edit and change their thumbnail more then once after upload and publicising, as you're just not happy with how it looks (I changed my pottermore thumbnail 3 times after it had been published as i didnt like the original)

Also has anyone ever really struggled with what to make for their thumbnail, i often just take printscreens from my current video, or i take something seperately but sometimes I struggle with a thumbnail for a topic and then there is horrible pressure between the time it takes to render and upload, to think of something and make it in that time (for me anyway)

Thumbs for me are one thing i have issues with. back when i had like 20 videos I re-did them all 2-3 times, now if I want to change looks or themes I just start with my current upload and use the new one going forward. thankfully I have settled close to what i feel will be the normal for awhile.
 
I just felt my thumbnail was too dark, then i made it into a printscreen and it was too red, so i changed it to what it is now, im still not mega happy with it, but some topics can be really hard to make thumbnails of!

My thumbnails are super-simple. I always, at the beginning of my video, do a few poses in front of the video camera and then take a screenshot of a still from it, then throw it into Phototshop and drop the text over it, sometimes with a bit of clipart for fun. It seems to work well.

this is also what i sometimes do, but i struggle to think of poses for certain topics haha

Absolutely! Someday, I should throw together an edit of nothing but me trying a bunch of silly poses just for thumbnails. :)

hahaha yes good video idea! I honestly had no idea what to do for a pottermore video so a screencap it had to be, sometimes that works just as well
 
it takes 10mins to do thumbnails and make sure they stand out top get people attention and make sure they click.
