Thoughts on username vs. full name?

I think it also depends on which kind of channel do you have. If you have a LetsPlay channel the full name wouldnt be good...
 
To me, as someone previously said, using a full name best suits like Vloggers and whatnot, who are very personal with their viewers, and a username fits well with people who are sorta well known as a character, if that makes since.

Yeah, that's kinda been the general consensus so far. I'm a vlogger, but not like a 'today I went to the shops and bought some cheese' type, I shoot more for comedy and stuff, so I am still going to keep my username.

I think the full names are mostly for people who already use their full name as their identifier in their videos, and not their username, or for people who don't post videos at all, and just like browsing YouTube. I agree with the above statement. It all depends on your type of content. Vlogging? go for it Gaming? not so much and plus i would rather for people to know me as back2respawn so its all preference.
 
Even for a blogger I'm not really sure a full name makes a good name. Is their real name catchy? Will you remember it?

I personally prefer username for both my vlogging channel and my gaming channel. The vlogging one because at conventions people know me by my alias (which is what I vlog). The gaming one because it's two people... using a full name wouldn't really make sense. I also really don't like people knowing my real name for everything. I'm sure you could find it easily, but do I really want it to be that accessible?
 
Username for a number of reasons:

1) Why would I want to provide my full name to the internet? It's the first rule of the internet, never ever give out personal details. The most I've shared is my first name and my country.

2) Branding. I call myself "iSoCoooL" because thats who I want to be known as on my channel because thats who I am in my videos.

3) Usernames are just cooler in general ... :cool:
