Thinking about upgrading from Turtle Beaches to a Blue Snowball ..

ProjectPastaCast

Loving YTtalk
So i currently record audio from my turtle beach headset and recently the quality has dropped and has stopped working with a couple of my software's (audacity & Skype) So I'm considering buying a Blue Snowball microphone. Does anyone know if it's with getting a blue snowball and if you own one how good is it ?
Thanks :)

Yeah, I own it. We've actually used it to record a couple of our videos (both of our "Stories with The Skorys" episodes are recored with it, if you want to hear the quality.). Like AJBBB said, it's not amazing but I think the quality comes out pretty good, especially for the price.

i'll check it out to see what the audio is like :)

The blue snowball :) Well the usb input in the mic is very loose :( And its certainly not the best but it looks cool xD

For that price you could pick up a studio mic! An SM57 or 58. Sound quality is hugely better than USB mice, jut means you would have to pick up an XLR interface, but can be picked up cheap.
My opinion is biased as I work in a recording studio, but sound quality is paramount to YouTube success imo

The blue snow ball I use in my vids... Very very good quality. Just listen to one of my vids

If you can, save up just a bit more and get either the Blue Yeti or AT2020 usb. The quality level will be leaps and bounds ahead of the Snowball for only another 40-50 bucks.

I'm with one of the earlier posters that a solid XLR mic (SM57 would be a mistake though for vocals) and audio interface is ideal.

I'd say it's perfect for starting out. You never know if you will want to continue, and it will be easier to sell afterwards if you'd like, because it's probably the most popular one. Go for it. I use it, and I'm pretty happy with it.
