I've Got It
MOD MOVE THIS TO
Video Editing, Recording, Software & Hardware

Thank you!

Here are some programs I have used over the years for various tasks. Some are freeware while others are bought. I do not encourage anyone to pirate. There are tons of free options if you cannot afford the more costly options. Check out for free trials and student discounts as well.

I use Dxtory for recording audio and video. I edit audio in Audacity. I edit the video in Sony Vegas. I use a Blue Snowball mic. I use Photoshop for graphics (I used to use GIMP) when I needed something free. While I record in-game audio in Dxtory I run audacity in the background to record my mic on two different channels; this makes it much easier to edit and master volumes.

I hope this helps tons of people. I am only adding programs I have used before and have experience with. The list is plenty big already. I will add more programs that I use in the future. I might even make a few tutorials; for now I am feeling a bit lazy.

Compressing PNG file types

These save you size at the cost of image quality

http://compresspng.com/

These simply re-compress a file and don't lose any quality. The size reduction isn't as big.

Great guide! You can't forget Camtasia, though. You can choose the amount of fps you want to record in, and you can edit it easily :D

Camtasia is fine for really simple videos, but its not very powerful. For example there are no good colour correction options, or the ability to do masking, but for screen capture footage or a really simple vlog then its easy to use and will get the job done fine!

I will add a new section in the OP soon enough. I am currently using Adobe After Effects. I have made a few sick intro and will render + upload them later for show. I might do some intros for other people, not a lot of people do intros here and mine seem rather good!
