THE TRUTH: IS IT SATURATED TO START YOUTUBE ? - TEARS On My Eyes

Guys, i have tears on my right now, while writing this:

I don't know if it will be a good idea to just focus on Success in Real Life or that it will be better to focus on success on YouTube, Especialy that i'm not an American and that i live in small village in North Africa - Morocco.
But, i was so influenced by american culture and their movies and everything they've done so far, I speak English Fluently like an american with an American accent, although i never went outside Morocco.
Now, i wanted to make funny content, i love video games an i would like to share alots of things on YT but due to my current job, i can't afford to pay for a great camera nor a great computer. not to mention that starting a YT Career requires alots of Equipment in order to start and alots of money to pay for social media so they can share your content, all of that is not easy for especialy the financial problem, but when it comes to work i'm the type of person that can only sleep from 6-3 hours a day, so i can produce something.

Thank you so much for reading and please i didn't write this topic in order to beg for money, all i wanted to know is: Is it possible to succeed despite this saturation ? that's what i'm asking...

Thank you so much...

I think most will end up with more money putting their time and effort into real life work, rather than YouTube. YouTube has to come from a place of passion - and if income comes down the line, that is great.

1. You can do youtube just with a phone/computer. This might not be enough and you might want ''okay'ish'' hardware. A GoPro and a 5 year old laptop could go far.
2. You don't pay alot of money to social media, it's never going to be worth it.

What content do you make / want to make, and what equipment do you have at your disposal? Budget? :)

I don't have much money, you could say that i have a normal HD Camera, and i can afford some lighting, but i don't have a computer that can allow me to use After effect and adobe pro, my computer only allow me to use Photoshop CC and barely.

I wanted to do some Entertainment content, something that will make everybody laugh. I don't know which choice to make. focus on real life or on YouTube, i'm really lost. not to mention that upload one single video takes alots of time. I really don't know... Focusing on real life or on YouTube, i don't know which choice will be better.

What stops you from focusing on both? Work/School in main time, YouTube as a ''time consuming hobby''. But I wouldn't recommend focusing on YouTube. In case it becomes viable you can transition from ''real life'' to youtube in the future.

Stephen Tries: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRmmd8tl3sT96cqDynL4Qgg

Both of these comedy channels are some im really into, both have grown alot the last year or two. Neither of these channels got succesful because of equipment, software or money, they got succesful because they are entertaining and worked hard on their channels. You could look at both of them for inspiration. The humor is quite stupid and simple, therefore reaching a big audience.

Damn dude, I know how you feel. It's tough letting go a passion, a thought of what if, your dreams of enlightenment. Trust me, you will remain happy once you continue on with life. From my experience and looking back at it. I blame myself for being inspired the wrong way, I watch animated videos on youtube and thought to myself "Wow I enjoyed that so much I want to be an animator so I can make other people happy!" I should've just enjoy the video and move on with the rest of my day and do more important things. Don't get me wrong, creating something and sharing it to people is a great feeling but it doesn't do much for you. I missed out a lot of social events, job opportunities, and even school, it effected me pretty bad from the past years. I'm now making a recovery thanks from family support.

Now I just tell myself, make whatever whenever the f**k you want.

After effect and adobe pro
You don't need it. You're listing some damn expensive software, and frankly, you don't need it. You could film on your phone, sit in front of window for natural light and edit on Windows Movie Maker. You are thinking all wrong about what it takes to succeed on Youtube. You don't need fancy ecuipment, you need good content! Especially when you're just starting out, content is waaaay more important than the quality of your gear.

Also, it sounds like you want Youtube to be your road to fame and fortune. Forget about that, because that's for the 1%. The majority of people who do Youtube (because there are thousands, if not millions), make videos for no profit and a small audience. Make videos because you like making them, not because you want to become rich and famous.

Yes, Youtube is saturated. But Youtube is still an open platform. You can upload things you like to make. Isn't that the most important thing?

YT Career

no such thing.

almost every successful Youtuber was (and remain) a person owning a craft. Photographer, Essay Writer, Mechanic, whatever.

If something goes wrong, they still have a job. Perhaps they are not really masters on their craft, but they have something to make a living.

Equipment and money is not a problem, you are a lucky person having a job. You do not starve.

Whatever you want to succeed needs work and study. Not paying socia media or crying.

For a start repair your signature link here and let us see your channel.

I do not post a link how to, this is part of your homework, not mine.

Good luck!

I don't know what you mean by "Should I concentrate on real life?"

If you are asking "Should I sacrifice everything in my life for YouTube?" then the answer is no. Don't give up a job for Youtube. Keep your job and your stable income and do Youtube on the side.

But all your excuses about Youtube being too expensive, too saturated and too time-consuming are all bad excuses. I know lots of channels who started with a tiny budget and who successfully built a very big audience because they make good content and they work hard at it and don't make excuses.

Chinese proverb:
"The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best time is today."

You signed up here in October 2018. You started off by asking a ton of questions and I was forced to merge them all into one "containment thread" ( http://yttalk.com/threads/i-have-a-few-questions-containment-thread.285730/ )because you were starting too many threads and asking so many random questions (like this one) and you didn't really seem very focused. So my question is - Now almost 3 months later, how many videos have you made?

(Stop making a new thread every time a random thought enters your mind. All of your low content / lazy / repeat question threads have been locked. )

Focus on real life always, YouTube is a hobby at best, a complete waste of time at worst. It just isn't important.
