The simple, inescapeable truth of YouTube

I'm down.....

This is not supposed to be an argument of Vloggers versus Let's Players (Yawn), but after 6 months of doing this Youtube thing, and dont get me wrong, I have had some fun along the way, a simple truth has finally dawned on me. Its so obvious to some, and yet to pop into the heads of the majority, but its something I have suspected for quite some time and have now reached the point of utter exhaustion with.

It doesn't matter how good your content is......

At all.......

It's about how much your going to advertise.

Sure there will be haters who say "Well duh! ", and yes i agree. But i have stated this here and now so you can just get over yourselves and have your air of superiority some place else.

Let's plays are easy. I said it. And I have the utmost respect for people who do other things. But you have to admit the genre is tempting. Look at all the let's players with f**king garbage content, who do an entire playthrough in a couple of sittings and are boring as crap after episode #152 of Skyrim. They run out of things to say !!!! Not, "there is a minute of silence". I mean literally, they have NOTHING of any worth to say. They are not entertaining in the least.

Now I do NOT class myself as the smartest guy on the web. FAR FROM IT ! But it is so f**king frustrating to see people who do not give a sh*t about quality and stare at a f**king lightbulb for 90 seconds and yet they get 301+ views for days on end!!!!!!

Why ?

Because they have advertised like madmen.

Well, I'm gonna take a break and think about life, the cosmos, and random sh*t like that now.

F**K !

I do both Games and Vlogs, i only go through small games, arcade games, indie games (for now), where-as my partners go through big games.
I just act as myself while playing games, i sound like a derp and hope to make people laugh with it and accept requests, but for the life of me i can't understand why people do LP's of Skyrim (and others, like Fallout etc), it's an RPG, it's meant to be played to do things your own way, plus the game is just too long to do a Let's Play on (in my opinion), so i agree with you how dull it can be after episode 1027. Lmao xD

It's the same in business, you have to devote something like 80 percent of your resources into marketing and advertising to get successful. That's to say if you measure success in the way the masses do

Your video's are funny as hell bud. Why is it you only have 114 subs? :)

Do you have examples of gamers who stare at a lightbulb for 90 seconds? :P

Everytime I hear someone say something about bad gamers I always feel like my content is bad. :P Which I really hope it's not.

Again, your content is crystal clear, very smooth and you have good, recent games on there, yet you only have 12 subs.

Point potentially proven again !

Like I say, the simple truth of Youtube. Another unnoticed gamer with great content and not much in the way of success, at least from a sub point of view.

Well, I can understand that I only have 12 subs since I am not doing anything of promotion. I know I could probably gather more by posting on different forums or put it on reddit. However, I want people who like my content, not trolls who dislike everything and put bad comments. Even I know that eventually will happen if you grow. But like you said, there is indeed a bunch of lets players ( and seriously, who is not these days) that have a crappy mic or stare at lightbulbs for 90 seconds and still get 20 or more subs each day. Do they have an unlimited amount of friends in stock or what? :P

Everything you said is true. Honestly, I work hard on my content, but it's not as satisfying as those who do skits.

Once I get a bigger and better fanbase, I might do comedy skits and gameplay. Together. A new genre of sorts. Not really.

But still, it's true, advertising has to be done in order to grow, especially in this generation where everyone is only looking at their sub box instead of searching up videos.

And because of this, I feel like my videos are crap. But those subs make me feel a bit better. I try my best is all I have to say.
