The pro's and cons of network partnerships?

Okay,

I received some invitations to join their networks. Some looks dodgy and there is one who looks alright; gracenetwork.tv . No-lock which is a plus.

Now the question: What are the benefits of joining a network? They say they get more money from ads, and they take a percentage of that. How true is that?

Do you know other benefits or cons of joining a network like this? I would be grateful if someone could give me an insight into this. Thanks in advance
