The Mysteries of Channel Ranking on Search Results

Anigami

Active Member
So could someone please explain to me how ranking works when searching for a channel by name. When I made my channel after a week I was able to search "anigami" (channel name, it's also in my channel tags) and find my channel at the top of my results.

But now after months of being active, with an ever increasing view percent, subs, likes, etc my channel ranks far lower than the rest of the same name. Even below the channels that are obviously dead and don't upload anymore.

Anyone have any experience with this? Thoughts? Ideas?

Much thanks! :D

It is entirely possible that your search rankings Have gone lower due to people not tuning into your videos for as long.

Yeah that thought occurred to me as well but my retention rate is literally up 200% from when I was checking before and ranking much higher. How could dead channels be ranking above me when my retention has never been better? I am puzzled to say the least haha
