The hypocrites over at Google

Patrick Harris

You see what I did there?
The following is an email I got from YouTube a few moments ago

Dear Impartial3rdParty,

We noticed that one of your videos is becoming popular on YouTube. We love seeing our creators be successful, and we’d like to invite you to monetize your video.
First, opt your account into monetization from your Account Settings, and then opt your eligible videos into monetization by visiting your Video Manager.
Have fun and good luck,

The YouTube Team
This is the SAME YouTube who forced me to shut down my channel a few months ago and start over. Then, only a month into my new channel, I was shut down again. So now that my 3rd channel is trying to enjoy some success, they want me to fall right back into the same trap and monetize my videos again.

My plan has been to hold on it, then once I reach a few hundred subscribers I would approach Fullscreen or some other network for a partnership. The goal is to bypass Google Adsense completely.

So thanks, Google, but no thanks.

Why were your channels shut down?

I'm sorry but for someone like me who doesn't know the backstory behind this thread it's just sound like you're raging for nothing :p

I'm not raging at all, I just thought it was ironic.

My first channel, "TeamHarris916", I used a bot to increase my view count. That was totally my fault and I accept responsibility for that. I was also into sub 4 sub back then, so you can imagine it didn't end well.

The next time was "PatrickHarrisOnline", which is when I joined YTtalk. It was going well; no bots, no spam, no copyright strikes. Nothing. Then someone click bombed me and Google chose to shut me down. I filed an appeal, but it will rejected almost immediately.

So, with my new channel "Impartial3rdParty" I chose to set it up in my girl's name (Asia) and we do videos together every Monday and Thursday. We have chosen not to monetize our videos at all to prevent being clickbombed again. When we reach our goal, we will approach (and wait to be approached by) a network that isn't Google. Fullscreen comes to mind. We choose not to go through Google adsense at all this time around, so its ironic to me that Google sent me an email encouraging me to monetize my videos when they were the ones who shut me down in the first place.

I went through the motions, filled out the forms, filed the appeals. Its all smoke and mirrors. No one who has had their channel shut down has EVER been reinstated. If theres a problem with your channel, they just shut you don't. They're not interested in appeals or looking into it. How could they be? There are MILLIONS of channels. Its hard enough just keeping everything straight. They're not going to investigate anything for the little guy. If I had 1,00,000 subs they would have, but at 50 subs, I'm nobody to them

You know, don't be so hard on them
I have a 6xx subscribers channel, I had problems with trolls adding fake subscribers to my channel to try and get me banned .
Google works that way : If you are consistant with your demand, and keep calling them every 2/3 days to check up on your requests , they will oblige and work with you. I agree the webforms are treated more freely at Google's , but if you pick up your phone, don't assault them but just call regularly concerning the issue they will work with you. They are cool guys.

Hell, now I have a direct contact at Google's french office that I can talk to directly because after a couple days of phone calls he solved my issue like a pro, I like the guy and would love to deal with him with further issues in the future. And I'm not a big YouTubers , I have 625 subs as I speak.

Be consistent and professional with them, that's how they work.
