I Love YTtalk
Introduction:
Hey everyone, it's me here with yet another guide. The last one hit 12 pages so I thought I'd drop some knowledge on your butts. Today I'm gonna talk about branding, how it will help further your channel, and different ways to go about it.

I also want to clarify, that by branding I don't just mean your graphics (ie thumbnails or channel art) I mean your entire brand as a Youtuber.

Your image:
First you want to take a look at your image, and try to match every single part of your brand to that image. This includes (but isn't restricted to):
-How you reply to comments.
-Your thumbails.
-Your channel art.
-Your editing.
-Your website (if applicable)
-How you talk in your videos.

People might say that establishing an image is "fake" however if Youtube isn't partially about your personal life, then isn't that part of what's great about it? You get to be someone else on the internet, that's so freaking awesome!

You should apply your image to all theese things, whether you chose to be kind a d**k who replies with pretty rude but funny comments. Perhaps you want your image to be someone completely mature and honest.

Establishing a brand:
Now once you've established your image, you want your brand to match that image. You can't have your image be a goody two-shoes who never did anything wrong. And have a profile picture saying "f**k the world"

Take for example my channel, I chose to brand myself with a goofy duck, which you will see everywhere (my profile picture, my intro, my thumbnails, my facebook, even on here) I also call my subscribers "the duck army"

My image kind of portrays who I am in real life, I talk kind of rude but I'm still pretty intellegent. I try to reply to all comments, and I try to do it in a whitty way too.

I also have a sub-level of humor in my videos, which only some viewers understand. For example when I use dubstep in my videos it's done sarcastlicly, playing the frag video joke. There is a lot of subtle jokes which some people can appreciate, which also gives them the idea that I'm not just some idiot putting together dubstep, games, and hentai.

Creating and furthering your brand:
Allright so you've decided your brand, and under that you've also decided your image. Now where do you go from here? it would be too much to ask of a graphics designer, and they probably wouldn't get it to the point you want it.

Well personally I use photoshop CS(3,4,5,6) any of the versions will do. Learning how to use this will help you a lot, also when it comes to editing videos. If you want to make 3D letters and incorporate them into your videos/graphics, you can use the program called "Cinema 4D"

When making thumbnails try to use big letters with the font "impact" and make sure they have a black outline of at least 4 pixels.
