The branding on my youtube channel

Dbrothers Gaming

Loving YTtalk
I just started my youtube channel, I'm doing ok so far but I know that branding is incredibly important. is anyone willing to look at my channel branding slash thumbnails and give me some advice?

Change how? I'm was planning on adding some stuff to my icon but I'm not great at design so specific suggestions would be great. What part could I do better?

show thats its your channel, instead of the icon being a game have a pic of the game in the back and your channel name on it

OK, so good branding means consistency with how it looks. I would suggest go to a colour scheme website and find 3 colours that compliment each other and that you like. Use those colours to help design a better header that looks smart. Try to use those same colours in your thumbnails as well. A consistent font is also adviseable as you have different ones in your thumbnails. I'm not saying my branding is perfect, but if you look at my channel you will see what I mean, I use the same font and colours for my header, logo, intro and thumbnails. Good branding should mean that it sticks in peoples minds. So if I said to you 'Adams eats' you should be able to instantly picture my logo and branding in your mind, works the other way too. If someone sees your logo elsewhere, they should instantly know who it is and what channel it is. Hope that helps ☺

Thanks, great advice. I will try to go with a theme. I realize that I just tried to make them look good with only a few hours of work and I didn't really think about coordinating all of my stuff including thumbnails together.

As you said, branding is very important! So one suggestion I have is to maybe create custom thumbnails that all follow a particular style, and use it for every video! Make sure that people know its a Bloons video that theyre clicking on too!

I think this goes for your channel art too, the banner doesn't really say that you do Bloons content at all.. So maybe have like a Bloons map or characters in the background with your name appearing in the same cartoony style that the game uses!

Also, if you only want to do Bloons content, you could potentially put it in your name somewhere like 'IAAC - Bloons Hints & Tricks' if you like... I know some people like going this and others don't, so this would be completely up to you :)

Also (not really branding related) I realised some videos have the black bars on the sides and others don't, try and get all your videos to a standard 16:9 ratio (720p or 1080p preferably) I know not all games or computers allow this, but see if you can find a way of resizing the Window if your playing on your computer! I know it's a small issue, but it can make a huge difference, just makes your videos look a lot nicer and professional in my opinion! (A good program I used to use was Sizer, it would resize game Windows, but also just Screen Resolution settings in game works perfectly if the game has it)

Other than that man, great job so far and keep up the good work :)

Thanks man!! Great advice. I hadn't noticed about the sizing issue. I'm trying to work on new banner/icon/thumbnails but I'm not very good at making them so I'm kind of just picking it up as I go. I think I need to make it a higher priority though. So that people understand what my content is and just to make it look more professional. Thanks again for the suggestions.[DOUBLEPOST=1485757190,1485712877][/DOUBLEPOST]

I just realized I made the same mistake on the video I just published. I uploaded it a day or two ago and forgot to check. I guess I just need to put that into my pre-upload checklist ritual.
