The Best Microphone for Recording Singing

Hey Forum-goers,

Any suggestions on the best microphone for recording singing. On a budget, but we can try to find a deal. Or a jack of all trades microphone that's actually good for recording spoken voice, singing voice, and instruments?

Thanks,

I would think that the Blue yeti would be pretty good. I heard that the Justin Beaver Used to use a blue yeti

I'd think about getting a condenser mic, but then you'd need to think of a pop filter, plus possibly pre-amp.

It's really hard to say unless we know your budget. I got the mxl 990 and all the things required with it for about 100. Mics are pretty pricey.

At the moment amazon are having a sale to do with all things audio so it's a good time to get new stuff

No. Blue microphones are not good for music. Get a real professional microphone for singing.

I think the word professional is more to do with price range these days. Because wouldn't the bieber using the yeti for his music mean that it is technically professional?

well, I personally find the Blue Yeti to serve my purposes when it comes to doing cover songs. It's $140, it's usb condenser mic meaning I don't need multiple parts for this set up (great for a college kid), and I can transport it anywhere (I can bring it to my campus' piano practice rooms or even bring it with me to record audio for my films and skits)

So I say Blue Yeti.

He doesn't use a Yeti. Bieber records with Doctor Luke, and my friend works for Doctor Luke. They don't use Yetis. The sound quality is not good enough. Simple as that. The Blue line is not good, if you want a real microphone buy something else.
