I started uploading video pretty regularly a few weeks ago. I've done some COOP and BF3 commentaries and uploaded a few animation samples for those who asked me for animation things...but I digress. I uploaded them with the MONETIZATION already enabled. Usually this resulted with a long time spent on the "considering" monetization list, hours sometimes days and no monetization. Then by trial and error a I came up with a way "around" it.

basically I uploaded a BF3 video and instead of naming it "Battlefield 3 Easter Egg Tutorial Commentary" (for example) I named it "tut". used no tags, FOR NOW. disabled monetization in upload then manually enabled it in MY VIDEOS. Instant results. I was surprised. BUT here's the rub! now YT's all-knowing and all-powerful algorithm took that original name "tut" and decided to put in related videos "how to tut" and other crap. *Jackie Chan WTF meme* see, this method has an obvious downside, in that YouTube will NEVER or SOMETIME before my death update the tags on my video. and meanwhile my BF3 tutorial will be stuck with videos like "how to tut"...
so what's your $0.02? did this work for you? give me your opinion.
