suggestions to get more comments.

Thank you all for the advice. I have taken this on board and will try them out in future videos!

One great way to get more comments on your videos is to ask your viewers a question that isn't just a yes or no answer. For example if you are playing a video game ask them if they like the game you are playing, or ask them about their thoughts in the latest gaming news ext. Just asking for peoples opinions on things has gotten me more comments on those videos. If you try and remind people in your video to like your video as kind of a gentle reminder might help as well :)

Hey guys whats up!

I'm sure by now most of you have seen me floating around. Im new to the forum and you tube and just want to pick your brains if you guys have any ideas how to get people being more interacting/comments on my videos. Im getting the vies and the likes and growing in subs but not really any comments.

Any advice is welcome.
A lot of times, people may genuinely enjoy your videos, but they may not know what to comment on. I'd suggest like either giving them a question to answer, a fill in the blank, or have them comment based on a secret word during the video.

Number of comments is directly linked to number of views. It's a numbers game
It's true that it's a numbers game, but different videos will still have different rates of views/comment. So while it's true that the more views he gets, the more comments he will get, there are still steps he can take during video production that will help him increase that rate of views/comments.

What I just said to Crown is true, but he's right, people don't comment as often as you are expecting them to. I actually don't think the comment rates on your videos are too bad at all. How is the retention on your videos? There aren't many people who are abandoning a video halfway through and writing a comment, so keep them there longer and you'll get more comments. How do you keep them there longer? Improve your video content. Maybe also cut down the length of the videos a bit. Generally people will comment if you give them reason to comment. When I post comments it's often when I'm surprised or impressed with the video content. Other times it's because I find something interesting about the video, and other times it's because I find the person's personality interesting and feel the need to mention it. Occasionally it's because the Youtuber asked me to comment for whatever reason.

Anyway, good luck with your channel.

Thanks for your points man. I am defiantly going to use them tips and hopefully it will help. I have started getting more comments from simply interacting more on twitter with people :D

This is true, I was just trying to say to OP not to be too downhearted in the beginning because it can sometimes feel like no-one's watching or no-one cares but that's not the case - It's just that most people don't comment. But that doesn't mean they didn't like a video. :)

On one of my videos last year, I quickly mentioned a topic related to the video but I didn't want to go off on a tangent and talk about it in detail so instead I just said "I might do a video about this related topic in the future if anyone is interested. Let me know in the comments if that's the case." That triggered a lot of comments asking me to do the video. So it was win-win I got a lot of comments and I also knew that my next video was going to be popular (and it was ^^ )

I think what helped is that it was completely natural. I wasn't doing it at the time to get comments - I genuinely didn't want to have to explain that other topic and go off-topic in the first video.

It makes sense that that would work. Sales 101. People are more likely to buy when they don't think they're actively being sold.
"Yeah, I also have a couple watches, but they're in the truck and I don't feel like going back there. I mean, if you're really interested I'll see what I can do but..."
"well, what kind of watches? Can you at least show them to me?"
When people feel like they might miss out on something they are more likely to respond. Your casual interest in that possible project was likely the reason you got some good responses.

People don't realize it, but everything is sales. Selling a video idea, selling yourself...we're always selling something.
