Sudden Increase in Views on One Video ... o.O

Hey guys!

So, I forgot that I'd joined YT Talk as I knew I would =P But then I got your newsletter, and then I thought, perfect place to ask for some advice =)

Thing is, a video I've had up for about 4 months now (Season 1, Ep. 013 of my "Dinosaur and Mo Creatures" Minecraft series) was going along fine with between 4 and 27 views a day, just like most of my videos. But starting 5 days ago, it suddenly went berserk. The views for the last few days: 233, 263, 190, 196 and 201.

I searched on Google and found it on a site called youtuberepeater.com, which is the only explanation I've come up with so far.

So... Has anybody else had a similar experience? Google looks out for suspicious activity like this, no? I don't really know how to stop it. I don't want invalid views >.<

I posted on the Google Youtube forums about it, on the second high-view-count day, but no reply from them as yet (odd cause usually I get a reply on the same or next day).

Any advice would be highly appreciated, thanks =) And now I'll spend the rest of my night browsing YTtalk =)

That site repeatedly plays your video over and over, effectively giving you fake views. They'll go away once Youtube audits views.

Sometimes you just get a load of views out of nowhere due to trending things and whatnot
Happened to me before :)

YouTube will audit the views and remove them, but do not monetize this video. You don't want them thinking you are trying to monetize fake views. Good luck![DOUBLEPOST=1375668771,1375668743][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yes, but this is a site for generating fake views...

Okay, so it seems there's nothing for it then... Just let it run its course, and YT audits them out afterward? ...
I checked and it seems I didn't monetise that specific video (very strange, and I guess, fortunate, 'cause I can't remember for the life of my why I didn't choose to monetise it.)
But so, you guys don't think I'll be penalised in any way? And is there no way for me to get my link off that site?? o.O So annoying >.<
Thanks for the comments.

You could delete the video to be 100% safe, but most likely YouTube will audit the views and remove them. The video will then be stuck at 301 views until you pass 301. :)

There could be many factors that cause a sudden "surge" of views on one (or multiple) videos. Certain sites or other people may be generating a large amount of views (happened to some people before), it could be either the right person (usually a mega channel/someone with a big following or reputation on YouTube) commenting, shouting out, or linking to your video, thus giving you a lot more traffic than usual. Or of course, trendy topics, trends in general.

A YouTuber that I'm a fan of did a music cover on a well known piece and for over 1 year, her views tend to taper off around 9k views, then one night, in less than 24 hours, that video of her, suddenly jumped to 100k+ views, along with hundreds of comments. It was possible due to the right person seeing the content at the right time, plus that person had a large following.
