Stupid false music rights claims *rant* !

No, I didn't post this in the copyright section, because as most of you are not Germans and my problem is a typical German problem, you can MOST probably not help me. I just want to get this off my chest and maybe in the process entertain you a bit ;) :D

So what happened? So, I created 2 fresh channels, one for Let's Plays and one for tutorials. I also uploaded the first videos on them, a first part for a Morrowind Let's Play and a tutorial about audio visualization using the free 3D software Blender.

I didn't partner those 2 channels to the network (don't ask names) I left yesterday, because I knew I was leaving and partnering a channel with just 1 video on it really makes no sense. But then my music distributor told me that they have a MCN now and I should partner those channels with it. So I did.

So this morning I went on both channels to see how many people watched my creations... and was surprised. Both videos were replaced with a message, that they were "not available in this area". i got no message from Youtube about any copyright problem or anything whatsoever. I went to the video manager of both channels to find out that monetization was ok and no Content Id match... WTF ???

So I opened another browser and pasted the URLs of the videos in there... just to check and there it was: "Unfortunately, this video is not available in Germany because it may contain music for which GEMA has not granted the respective music rights. " AWWW! Can't give you a link here, but just google : "Blocking of YouTube videos in Germany"... and you'll know the mess I'm in here ;)

So, Morrowind is a game by Bethesda software, as you may know. And Bethesda recently stated publicly, that they are ok with uploading gameplay videos and monetizing them. The music has been composed solely for this game and therefore all music rights are also ok. So why...?

With my tutorial it is even more strange: There's background music, but it is music coposed and performed by me for my music project Cimelium. There's also snippets of another song for demonstrating the audio visualization. But they are from a song by me, which has not even been released, because it will be part of an upcoming album.

This, pardon my french, sucks! Especially as there is no way to dispute this. If Youtube has given me a content id notice or even a strike, I could dispute at least the thing with my tutorial video. But now i can just sit here and wonder.

Ahh, now it is better! I typed this HAMMERING on my keyboard, because I am SO ANGRY! :D

Regardless of whether this is a german problem or not, you should still post it in the copyright section as it is a problem regarding copyright.

As for some of your concerns. The tutorial you produced on your channel. It wouldn't happen to be a tutorial on how to use a music producing software would it? If so, there may be a few things that could have caused it, such as YouTube's system picking up parts of your audio tracks that sound similar to that of another song. Where it may have matched it up to one of the many songs out there and immediately flag your video on the basis of copyright strike. Rather infuriating glitch, but it's a thing that happens either way.

As for the copyright strike on your Morrowind video, the only thing I could think of that could cause a bit of a stir is that the music, while legal in the U.S. to post on YouTube videos, might be restrained in Germany. Therefore the blocking of your video in it's entirety.

I'm not sure though. I'm no expert.

K bai.

Well the tutorial, was, as I also said about a 3D graphics software and each and every sound in it was genuinely created by me ;)
With the music in the Let's Play... well this may be. But why do I get no straight Content Id claim or a real copyright strike? Something IS wrong there ;)

We had this a little while ago. Some company called ChipXonio or something.

We was running a podcast series on our channel that showed gameplay footage and trailers to accompany the conversation, and they weren't monetised.

This gaming magazine from Germany ChipWhatever claimed that they own the rights to an ESRB rating screen to some trailer.

Knowing this was a lie so I filed a complaint about them and filled in a copyright claim stating the problem. A day later the podcast was back up!

It turns out that ChipXonio do this to many videos that compete with their own so that they can get ahead.

Well, I'm going to move this to the copyright section because it's about copyright :)
That's ok :) I just thought it wouldn't fit in there as I was not thinking about getting any help on this.[DOUBLEPOST=1406885156,1406884950][/DOUBLEPOST]Well @BrotherandBeastGaming I would file a complaint too, but I can't, because I didn't get any copyright strike and not even a Content Id claim. And without that, it is hard to file a complaint. Now I reported this to my new MCN and hope they get the case resolved. The fun is, that the videos are viewable and present in my "my videos" section. I even have a green $-sign for monetization of both videos. This is so strange...
