I just came across this option in Youtube....what is the difference between this and live events?

Going from what CherrPyy said, Live Events is for live streaming via YouTube whereas Streams is for live streaming via YouTube. Hope this helps

Long story is when you are enabled to do live streaming videos and you do one youtube calls it a "live event". So it's just the same thing with two different names.

Then how come there is 2 different setting page? One for streams and one for live event?

I think I figured this out....There are difference between live events and Streams...

If you setup live events you have more options like record the stream upto 4 hrs, monetize stream etc....
If you setup streams, you do not get these options.....

So there is a difference.......
