stop autoplay trailer?

Hiya.. is is possible to prevent a channel trailer from autoplaying for a new visitor? I'd rather people get the choice. It annoys me when people trailer auotplay wen i visit a channel. And I notice views from my channel (page which i presume is my trailer) get low watch time (harmful for video) as people don't generally stay long on a channel home page.. its just a stepping stone. I always thought there was a setting to turn autoplay off but can't seem to find it now.

I’ve tried finding this setting and have never had any luck. I remember looking it up awhile ago and everyone said there’s no option to turn it off. Maybe with YouTube’s new interface updates something will come up though.

Thanks Seansie. I think your right about that. ahh too bad. I guess i can always not have any channel trailers or featured videos selected. How many people actually go to channel page anyway? Probably not many I reckon. Maybe this ain't worth doing anything with.

You can't turn it off for you to autoplay, but I think you can turn off your own trailer if you don't want the retention to get smashed

I've intentionally put a very short trailer on my channel (1 min) so even if people click away after 30 secs, it's 50% retention on that one.
I'm not even sure whether autoplay trailer views count as views altogether. IIRC it's all about user-initiated views, not those videos starting to play by themselves without the user touching the play button. So autoplay and dropping off after a couple of seconds shouldn't spoil one's audience retention.
