Spreading the word

Would just like to hear people's suggestions on how to spread the word about ones youtube channel and videos.

I'm not much for posting videos on my private facebook, so anyone who knows about a good site, or method for spreading the word, and get more subs and views?

Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, Daily Motion, Google +... etc. Just don't be spammy.

I heard of Reddit, I just don't know really how to use it. Comment on other people's videos, but don't be like, "check me out!" comment something original and actually helpful, if it gets thumbed up you'll get views for sure, just don't do anything like "thumb this up.." either!

Tumblr was really good for promoting my Sims 4 Let's Plays, it helped build my YouTube subscribers AND my tumblr followers !

Tumblr was really good for promoting my Sims 4 Let's Plays, it helped build my YouTube subscribers AND my tumblr followers

But did you have a large following of followers on tumblr already when oyu started?

No I didn't! I earnt the majority of my followers after I started posting the Let's Plays to my tumblr

Can I give another piece of advise for earning subs/ just a general tip for your channel? Make some sort of introduction or channel trailer video. That's the first thing I look for when I see a new channel to try get a feel for the person, and I've noticed my "5 facts about me" is also my most viewed video- so other people must do the same thing!
