Spectate mode and record?

So does everyone know those animated movies that machinima did with halo? i've seen others do that with bf3 as well. so how do you make em?

I think they are usually done on a PC and with a custom loaded map or in-game editor (I know that's how a few L4D Machinimas I've seen are made, cos they get better angles and can put cheats on to get the environment and HUD how they want it)

Yeah exactly on PC you have a more free open spectate environment so you can basically get any angle and any place.

CS I'm pretty sure you can open a map in an editor, how to do it though I'm clueless. But definitely look around I'm pretty sure you could find something on how to get good angles and footage of a map for PC games.
