Sony vegas vs premiere pro?

Alot of people use sony vegas. i've tried using it before it it looked pretty complicated. i just got the adobe cloud subscription(because im a designer) but i've never used premiere. i would be using either for youtube videos mostly.

while i could if i wanted to get sony vegas, is there a reason for me to use premiere pro(other than already having it lol) over vegas?

my level of video editing skills are windows movie maker

Well I've never used Vegas, but I have used Premiere and I love it! Once you know the basics it makes video editing a breeze! :)

Vegas may look complicated, but it is so easy to use. Watch a 10 min tutorial on YouTube and you'll be ready to go!

I haven't used Premiere before so can't comment on that.

I've used Premiere Pro, it was the CS3 version I believe, and I've used Vegas Pro. I'm putting my vote in for Vegas Pro. It always struck me as being more user-friendly. What I remember above all about Premiere was how countless many menus there were. It drove me absolutely mad.

Vegas is quite easier to get a grip of imo, but if you don't mind the steep learning curve try Premier, the good thing is both offer a 30 Day trial.

Premiere Pro is slowly starting to become somewhat of an industry standard in video editing alongside Final Cut Pro, so I'd go with that. I started off by using Vegas, and I could do a hell of a lot there, but since I got Premiere CS5.5 (which is kinda old by now), I've never gone back.

I'm fairly certain a lot has changed between CS3 and now. I'd give it another look.
