So basically I'm trying to Import a video of me doing some Gameplay to Vegas and it crashes every time I do it. No error message just not responding. If anyone has a solution for this, or things I could try, please tell me!

Need more info. What file type? What program produced it? What are your system specs? Have you installed any codec packs for Vegas? How big is it?

I recorded with Fraps so I guess you can see which file type. Oh and I converted it to a .mp4 file and it worked but I think the quality is a bit off.

My system specs are:
ProcessorIntel(R) Core(TM) i7-3820 CPU @ 3.60GHz
Video CardNVIDIA GeForce GTX 780
Memory16 GB
Operating SystemMicrosoft Windows 8 (build 9200), 64-bit

I have not installed any codecs as far as I'm aware. I've only had it today.

The file is around 52 GB I think.

DO NOT install any codec packs for an editing machine. It is very bad. It's like drinking all the medicine in your cabinet to cure 1 illness. Downloading the dozens of codecs wil overwrite the ones that Vegas Pro installed which are the better ones.

Instead you need a single codec to fix your problem. I assume your trying to import an .avi file right? Vegas Pro is fussy with them as they are a container and contain lots of different stuff inside them.

Try these codecs to install one by one and try importing afterwards. (They are in order of most likely to fix to least likely.)

Lagartih Lossless codec
x264vfw H.264/MPEG-4 AVC Codec
Mainconcept MJPEG Codec
Xvid Video Codec

Just keep it as the AVI file, try the raw AVI and import that, not the MP4,

Your specs seem perfectly fine.[DOUBLEPOST=1403082788,1403082750][/DOUBLEPOST]

He doesn't need any of those, since FRAPS has its own codec.

You need the codecs to import into Vegas Pro, so that it can read the file. Much like how you need codecs (which windows install) to watch videos.

He still doesn't need them for FRAPS' files, and you'll only need those codecs if you're watching a file that was produced with those codecs.

So why are there videos all over the internet about importing issues with FRAP avi files and Sony Vegas? And then to fix it they download a codec pack (usually in the form of K-Lite or CCC) to fix the problem?

Go ask the uploaders.
