sony vegas is weird

so i have had alot of problems with sony vegas not anything major but for some reason everytime i open up skype in general and sometimes when im online the frame rate defecates all over it self and skips like 50-500 frames

it only fixes when i close the programs

Skype has issues with it being open and Google Chrome being your default browser, I usually see it spike up to 70% of my CPU and messing with any CPU and GPU intensive programs I'm running like Vegas 11, but it runs fine with IE being my default browser.

I used to use Sony Vegas and found the basic consumer version (known as 'Platinum') is rather buggy as it doesn't fully utilise the graphics card of the computer (until very recently). However, after I switched to the 'Pro' version, I found the software to be extremely reliable.
