When I have a clip of some gameplay i go on Sony Vegas edit it then go to render it in HD720p and it has these black bars on the side. Also if you say right click the video properties then untick aspect ratio i couldn't find it when i went on properties! Please help i want to make my videos look more professional!

It can also be the recording program :) Like with fraps for example :) If ya want to remove black bars yu should record on full size ;) And with sony vegas yu need to change the aspect ratio to 16:9 :D Works for me only never applied it to a real vid of mine xD

When you go to 'Render As...', scroll down to the bottom and there should be a tick box for 'Stretch video to fill output frame size (do not letterbox)' under 'Render Options'. Make sure it is TICKED, render and see if it works :) Hope it helps!

if none of what they said above isnt working you can go to event/pan crop (the white box in the corner of your video thumbnail on the timeline) and drag in the view outline until the black bars arent showing anymore.

yeah i did that it works thanks :)

Yeah, you just have to make sure your not rendering in a larger size than you recorded with. So, make sure when your recording to have the same aspect ratio as what your rendering in.
