Sony Movie Studio 12

For all those out there like me that have not shelled out the bucks for Vegas Pro, Movie Studio 12 was a worthy upgrade for me. The new version is 64 bit so if you are running a 64 bit OS it can take advantage of that feature. Couple the new 64 bit version, the ability to now use GPU acceleration, and a good Nvidia or Radeon card that can handle CUDA and OpenCL and your rendering times should improve greatly.

Having tested version 12 to my previous version 11 on the same clips of different varieites of length and content. overall my rendering time has been cut in 1/2, literally. I can render a 1080p video in version 12 in less than 7 minutes. In version 11 that would have taken 15 minutes or more. Some of you may have even better hardware than I do and get those render times now, but for me this has been a real improvement.

I personally liked it. I have Vegas / After Effects and Movie Studio.
I do feel that MF has the same layout and feel compared to Vegas, though creating intros and other effects is better on Vegas Pro.
I personally use MF to record my voice cause it's crisp and clear.

Movie Studio 12 is what I ended up going with after trying both it and Premiere Elements. The layout and tool structuring just felt more natural to me, taking hardly any thought for me to get the hang of it. The CUDA support is really nice, it does cut down render times a lot. Also, with the addition of a $10 plugin (Render Assistant) I've got batch rendering so I can edit in the evening and render multiple videos overnight.
