Someone Stole My Video and Is Taking Credit for it. What do i do?

So i was looking for new tutorials in after effects on youtube and i came across a video that look really familiar to me, like i created it familiar..... so i clicked on it and believe it or not some one stole my video and put there branding on it and is making money off my video. Im shocked that someone would do this because i worked pretty hard on it and they sole it and are taking credit for it. I dont really know how i should go about this, i put a lot of work into this video and it offends me that someone would try and take full credit for it. Well anyways here is the stealer's video, he uploaded it a week ago:

What do you suggest i do? I tried flagging it for infringing my rights, but it just takes me to more youtube copyright mess and idk if its really even worth the bother trying to fill out all that stuff.

What really gets me the most is that the stolen video has 400 more views than my original one does. :banghead:
 
Have you tried contacting them directly and asking them to take it down? Confrontation is your best bet. If nothing else you're going to have to get youtube to take it down, even if it means a lot of work on your part.

No, i just went ahead and decided fill out the pages of the copyright form :/ I guess well have to see how it goes :p
 
Are you part of a network? I would e-mail them. If you aren't then I would file a copyright claim. You are part of Fullscreen right? I would e-mail the person who recruited you.
 
That really sucks. YouTube should give you those views.
It looks like you're not the only one he steals from. I looked at his 2011 playlist and saw some from MysteryGuitarMan.
 
Update us on how this goes, I hate when people steal content I wanted to write a comment on the stolen video, but then I thought I'd let you sort it out. It was a great video though =]
 
This has happened to me before (just a few weeks ago actually). Someone stole a whole video from my channel and uploaded it on theirs. Stole my tags, description... everything. They even left the links to my social media profiles in there (thanks? lol).

Some people confront the other person and give them a chance to fix the situation. I don't. I quietly filed a DMCA claim form, and as soon as I clicked the button to submit, my video was gone from their channel. A few days later, their whole channel was suspended because they were doing this to a lot of people. Over 300 videos on that sham of a channel.

It's your content. Treat it like your car. If someone steals your car, you call the police. If someone steals your video online, file a complaint with the... internet police (the DMCA form).

I filed a copyright form from youtube and i also emailed partner support at fullscreen since i'm partnered with them. Im not expecting anything to happen yet because its the weekend, but im hoping once the work week starts ill see it taken down!
