Some tips from a newbie.

Although I am pretty new to all this, I do have a few tips (this pretty much is applying to Let's Players but it can go to others as well.) I do know that I JUST started out,and have very little subs.. and have MUCHHHHH room to learn myself, and should probably take some of my own advice, but here goes.

1. Sound Quality and Video quality- No one will take you very serious with background buzz and clicks and a noisy computer. Very low resolution also. It turns people off. I learned the hard way with my first channel. Eventually I bought the blue yeti mic and oh my god, life saver. Having a quiet computer helps a lot too and a good smaller room (foam on walls helps but very minimal)
2. Make your profile look enticing. Something you made with microsoft paint and squiggles might get you 2 subscribers.
3. Videos should be something that YOU want to watch and have fun with and that you would want to look for or subscribe to.
4. Do it for yourself first, promoting yourself is ok, but have fun with it. You could have a video way more funny that one of pewdiepies, but have 38 views. That's ok... Just picture 38 people in a single room watching your video. Made me feel better. I had a video with almost 1k views, I pictures almost a thousand people standing behind me watching my video and I felt pretty darn awesome.
5. Play with other people, do teamwork in videos. Learn about software like avs video editor or the more expensive Vegas Pro video editor. If you want a cam of you while your playing, learn about all of that as well. Play around with it.
6. Watch your edited video, if you aren't pleased with it, DON'T upload it til YOU like it.

I have some audacity tips as well, such as noise removal if you do have noise in your background (sometimes it's just unavoidable no matter the mic) And syncing audacity with your video/cam/gameplay etc.

In case you where wondering.

You have a weird resolution, why not use 1080p? :D
Everything on my computer is awesome, sadly my monitor I think only supports certain resolutions, and gets real weird when I go to the higher ones. I can do 1080p while playing games. But I have it set to that when I'm just on the internet otherwise all the words and etc get fuzzy.[DOUBLEPOST=1393652612,1393652539][/DOUBLEPOST]^ Just set it to 1080p lol. It just makes text pretty small and alittle fuzzy. Or i'm going blind lol.

Nah I feel for you, my monitor is really bad too. If yours is as bad as you say that's fairly normal, my left one can do 1080p but at terrible quality..

Although you are new to YouTube, your advise is very much on-point. Im at 494 subs right now, and I consider myself a noob since my primary goal is 1k. But many people wouldn't consider me that and ask me for advise and what I tell them is very similar to what you said. Especially the "do it for yourself" advise. I haven't told many people this, but my initial idea for my channel was to upload things I did that I thought was good/cool and let whoever wanted to, enjoy it with me. I still do this, but as my channel grows and I start getting feedback on my channel from my viewers, I now take their advise (sometimes if I think it will help) in consideration as long as it is in-line with what I DO. I try to make sure no matter how big I get, I continue to do what I DO, I;m not trying to be any other YouTuber. I want my fans to be able to come to my channel and see my videos and know I'm doing ME, not following other people. Hopefully these tips help other people out, and thanks for posting this great thread. Good luck with your channel!
