Software for recording Webcam and gameplay separately?

Hey there everyone!

My name is Sir_Reyz. I have a quick question about different recording software. I am wanting to record both my gameplay and webcam footage separately. I currently use OBS to record my gameplay but I make a scene that combines both my gameplay and webcam footage on one video. I want to record my webcam separately on a different program other than OBS. Anyone have any suggestions?

well if you use obs there are 2 versions on your pc a 32 and 64 bit and you can use both at the same time one recording facecam and one for game play hope that helps

Good thought. I've tried that before and it seemed to lag my games when I was recording. Might have been since I was using the same settings that I used for recording my gameplay, so I might just bring down the resolution or something. Thanks bro!

It depends what webcam you have. I've got a Logitech one (can't remember specific one) which comes with a program that allows me to record it on it's own. Then I use DXTory to record the gameplay, similar to you using OBS.

If your webcam has a program I'd advise just using that and then doing a sync clap or something to ensure that you can sync it up easily. Make sure you don't include a sync clap in the video though

maybe your editing sofware can record the webcam footage? I know powerdirector can and thats what I use to edit

Didn't think about looking at Logitech. I also have a logitech webcam so I'll probably check there first. Thanks for the advice!

And yeah, I record my voice separate of OBS so I have to do the clap thingy regardless.

I use Hitfilm 3 Express, and as far as i know, I don't think that it records stuff. But I'll check out powerdirector. Thanks.
