Social buttons disappeared from channel pages?

Previously, YouTube would show buttons for linked social media accounts, like this:


Then yesterday, I noticed that they had disappeared and were replaced with "standard" links with the URL as the label at the top of the other custom links. I noticed this on other channels as well. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

PS I happen to be extra-sensitive to channel design changes, given my particular background. I find I have to modify it about every two weeks to keep up with YouTube's changes.

I guess youtube just wanted to get rid of it...I wasn't really a fan of it anyway..only because when you link your accounts to it..it can only go to your private accounts...like facebook..i wanted to link the buttons to my fan page..but it cudn't..it only linked to my personal facebook...and i didn't want that happening.

But it allowed you to link to your Twitter and Google+ Business Page. That was nice.

Yea...I didn't really use those much...maybe twitter yea...that i would make an exception for..
it sucks that you have to keep altering your background to fit youtubes constant changes though..sorry about that.
