Skippable VS Non Skippable Ads

I Love YTtalk
Has anyone had good success using Non Skippable adds?

I only run skippable because I don't want to lose any audience but am contemplating putting a non skippable on a 30 minute feature video.

How are doing that? Are you with a network?

I'm with adsense and you can't actually pick and choose whether you have non-skippable. It is out of the creator's control I believe. - In the monetization tab, by unchecking the "Skippable video ads" checkbox, that doesn't mean that the ads will then be skippable. It's kind of ambiguous I agree, but that is my understanding at least.

No network. I'm with adsense too but there is a check box for non-skippable adds available in the monetzation section on youtube, at least on mine :/

Ah ok, that's probably due to my location. I've just checked support and it's something that I can request to be added to my account.

I'd enable the ads on videos which would be in high demand and fulfilling a strong need. A truly unique viral video would be good or maybe an educational video where the information within the video would have a high perceived value. Channels which get a lot of sub views would be good too because they already know the channel (and are more likely to sit through the ad). But a "normalish", not very unique topic video that gets a lot of views from new viewers (they don't know you) would probably not work out very well. If I were you, I'd test it for a few weeks and compare metrics. It might be worth enabling for the months of November and/or December where the extra $$ would probably offset any drop in views you might experience.

It be interesting to see some hard data on skippable ads vs non skippable ads. Really the only way to compare the two. Any one have a comparrison?
