SitC and your experience!

Hakuna your tatas.
Hi!

So, I've always wanted to go to this gathering Summer in the City and this year I might just have the slightest chance of going :D But as a person from another country, I don't really know much about London and or these events, I wanted to ask - Have you been to SitC? And if so, what has been your experience?

I've just watched videos of so many panels that I want to see myself and I heard it is a good place to meet other YouTube enthusiasts, as well as learn about YouTube and creating. Of course I'd like to meet some of the people I have watched frequently, but I know that that isn't always a possibility (judging by how many people want to see them as well). Have you met the people you wanted to meet?

I just really want to get more info on this event and see if it really is worth attending. Since I might just be going alone in the end, is it easy to meet new people there? :D

Yea, so tell me what was your experience and what should others know before going?

I'm going to sitc year, I have never been before but looks to be awesome, it's a really friendly atmosphere and any event where there's youtubers is great!!

Follow sitc on twitter for info :)

Yes, I watched the ''Small YouTuber'' panel and the atmosphere was just amazing :D
I am following them, but I guess I wanted to know more from people that have been there :D

This will be my first year! I literally booked the hotel for it yesterday and everything. I will be going on my own, for all three days of the event and I'm super excited and yet kinda terrified because what if no one talks to me and I'll be lonely forever :(
I'm pretty sure SitC is one of the more friendlier places, just watch some videos on what to take with your during the day (water is good!) and you (and me) will be fine :D

True! I think it's gonna be fine meeting new people, even for someone a bit socially awkward as me :D Heard London is a pretty expensive city though, worried about my finances there too :D

I may be going this year, so I'm also curious to know what others who have already been found it like (I'm not sure that was a very grammatical sentence but oh well).

I attended Summer In The City last year on Creator's day and the Saturday.

Creators day, was super empty. Sort of nice, but still really empty.
Panels were okay I think we went to two? other than that we walked around the expo hall and just chilled really. We saw a few Youtubers walking around but didn't 'meet' any of them.

Saturday was VERY busy haha! So many people...
We didn't go to any of the meet ups as we were there just for meeting new people and going to the panels rather than queuing for 5,6 + hours. TomSka was at his merch stall most of the day so it was nice to have a little chat and have a photo with him.

There were more options for panels, but most of the day we just spent sitting by the main stage. My friend had a sunday ticket.. didn't opt to go though because panels weren't as interesting on the sunday and we'd experienced the expo hall already so it didn't seem worth the journey.

Hoping this year they have more to do. I know they've just announced a funfair? but I'm hoping for more inside creator-y/youtube activities.

Heading back this year Saturday and Sunday so hopefully I'll see some more people I know!
