Is there any way round te copyright clause with singing a song, my kids singing is funny but obviously they are real songs so would I be able to monetise or would it be copyright?

Usually you will be able to monetize without problem. Sometimes you will be able to keep all the revenue sometimes you will have to share with the copyright owner. So be brave and upload. Very few songs are blocked nowadays (but I can happen).

You can't use the recorded music because that has copyrights on it. If it's just your children singing by themselves then the record companies won't do anything, it's just the recorded tracks that they care about.

Ummmmmmm, it should be okay since its not like your ripping the song off. It depends on how much of the song and how loud it is in the video, if its the background and your kids singing is the main and loudest part then that shouldn't be a problem.
