Showing brands in videos

Are you allowed to show brands in videos eg if I drink a visible can of coca cola or do a makeup haul with branded cosmetics is this allowed and legal?

Huh. Never really thought about it. I don't think that anyone would be upset, realistically... it's free advertising, albeit unintentional.

I don't know all the laws exactly, but it wouldn't hurt just to say something like "I haven't been paid to show these products, they just happen to be my favourites" or something like that

Put a note in your description saying the video isn't sponsored if you are worried, however nothing bad should come of it.

I'm sure it's legal but i'd want a damn endorsement deal outa it. I put black tape over my pack of marlboros when i'm streaming on twitch.tv if I pull the pack up to get one and it gets on cam. If they want me to show their logo then they need to pay up or send me some smokes free lol.

From our perspective, in advertising videos that we did we had to cover all brand information for example Camera we used, car, books... We had to put everything in such way so you can't see any brand..

So yes using brands in your video is not allowed if you don't have approval from them.
They are not paying you to promote them..
