Shoutouts Good Or Bad

Whats your thoughts on this?

I think its not a terrible thing but how a shoutout works is that youtuber basically is telling his fanbase to go to your channel. Not because they want to or found your content interesting its more of an instinct thing.

You will get the subscribers and views for a couple days but after that they will fall back off. Might have a couple that enjoy your content but most likely you will be left with dead subs

Also learned this from watching a bigger channels video that covered this topic if you want the video let me know.

Personally i don't think they do anything anymore, or at least not permanently, i would rather gain my own audience than have them sent to me, however i don't think its a bad thing, like view botting or sub4sub and stuff like that, i can't stand them, so anyone who gets or gives shout outs is up to them really

Yes not saying its a bad thing but mostly your going to 90% chance getting dead subs. Because that's someone else fan base what you can do is collab with them often to make those fans know who you are and turn them into your fans aswell

If the content produced by the promoter is similar to the promoted, there's a good chance you'll actually gain a following audience. If the channels are irrelevant than no. I'd think it also matters a lot on how its promoted.

Yes if that person has dead subs like maybe ave 400 subs and only gets 20 views a day probably not going to help shouting you out

Don't think theres anything wrong with getting a shout-out, you might get an influx of people for a short space of time but in that time you may gain some subscribers/viewers who watch your content consistently.

The only thing I'm not keen on is doing them from request. I would much prefer people find a content creator they really like and offer to give them a shoutout rather than people directly asking larger channels "Give me a shoutout!".

If the one who shouts out your channel gives a little description of who and why he shouted out, it can only help you out.

even if 90% will be dead subscribers, do you have to care? 10% will still find your channel quite interesting and thats a good thing, isnt it?

about that whole dead subscription thing: dead subscriptions are counted as well and people are tending to subscribe to channels with many subscribers. most of them wont even care how many dead subscribers it has, if the number is large enough they will trust your channel a little bit more.

its sad that channels with a brilliant quality but only 20 subscribers arent as popular as channels with huge subscriber-graveyards, but thats the youtube-psychology right now i guess...

Yeah because if a large channels tells his fan base to come to yours you will get a good amount of people and views for awhile then the views and subs will go right back to normal
