Should you hide the number of subs you have?

Coucou everyone!

Hope you are doing well! I just got this question though my head...should you hide your subscribers? like for example, I only have 1 sub,, maybe is better if I hide that so people will jump aboard? sometimes you just need someone to start the ball rolling

Or maybe it doesn't affect at all and is better to show how many subscribers you have? Being transparent all the time

What are your thoughts on this subject?

I have never hidden my sub count and so far I am doing OK.

I don't really care either way if someone hides their sub count personally. If I like the channel I will subscribe, but if I don't I wont its just that simple for me. It is kind of cool to see a channels sub count that I am subbed to though to watch how they grow if I have been with them for awhile I think.

Totally agree, seeing how a channel grows is amazing. Now my dream is having people commenting: I was here when you had 1000 subs, etc!
 
Ive said before, I'm new, and get little subs. But it doubled up as soon as i hid my sub count. Proves that many peoples are shallow/fickle /sheep like. And those that won't sub because your sub count is hidden also proves its not about the content for them. So if your starting out with a new channel why not exploit people's negative character attributes to your advantage?
 
Yeah, honestly I don't hide my subscriber number, however if others do I personally don't mind all too much. I don't see a reason why I would hide my subscriber amount, but if others have a reason to or just do so, more power to them. Either way, I don't worry about it too much.

However I may in fact experiment with hiding my subscriber count just to see what happens, a growth or a decline :p

How interesting, now you have me thinking, MAYBE a few people can do this and post the results, MAYBE I've been thinking about this all wrong. I know I get an average 250 new subs a month, so it would be easy to see if turning off the sub count makes any difference.
