Should you get rid of your old videos?

What do you do with older videos?

Hey everyone. So, I've had my current channel for a number of years now, but only recently have I started uploading things to the quality and type of content I want to continue on with.

I only have a few older videos, but they don't really fit in with my standard of quality anymore.

For a cleaner look, should I just... unlist them?

Or should I keep them, since some of them have a decent amount of views, and just count on the fact that one day they'll be buried under newer videos?

(Or option 2, I could always just give them titles and thumbnails that match my current ones so people THINK they're just as good!)

When i discover a new channel I like to go back and look at a few of their old videos. Generally the old videos will be lower in quality with bad audio, crappy video resolution, bad editing etc. I find it motivating to see how most Youtubers improve over time. As an example look at the production quality of the Shaytardd vlog today vs the earliest videos. Huge difference!

I vote to keep all old videos. It'll remind you of how hard you've come plus it'll provide motivation to new creators by helping them see that even the best video makers were not very good when they first began.

To be honest its up to you. you can show people your routes and how you have grown.. or you can keep it to yourself.. i have all my old videos on a hard drive for myself. I sometimes reflect on them to remind myself how far iv come. but if they have decent views and you dont mind them being online then there is no harm keeping them up

basically 100% this ^

It is completely your decision, but I've always kept my old rubbish MS paint / windows movie maker videos up, and have had people that say its helped inspire them to start animating, because chances are, most people can make something better than by old vids already, so they should be able to improve even more than I did.
I also like to see other's old videos :D especially when that youtuber becomes really big, its cool to see where they started

also bear in mind if you do want rid I would unlist them, because deleting them will also remove the views from your viewcount.
