I do mostly a vlogging/DIY channel, but I thought about putting some of my gameplay on my channel, just for something different and something fun to do. Should I do that or will it drive away views?
Do whatever you want. I mean, your channel is just starting (like me) so it not like your going to lose everything, and also its good to try something different.
but the gaming community is pretty over saturated so if you decide to do gaming try and do something funny, creative, new, or something you don't see everyday.
so basically if you didn't want to read those other sentences, i say GO FOR IT.
I say yes.... Girl gamers usually can find an audience relatively quickly.... Use a face cam and you should be good to go as long as you're entertaining enough (I'm sure you'll do fine), haha... gamers are pretty loyal / supportive to their gaming brothers.... especially if you're a girl That's my advice!
I would definitely recommend it. Try it for a bit if it doesn't help or you don't enjoy it, you can stop the game play and go back to DIY and Vlogs. I decided to separate mine into two different channels and I must say that wasn't the smartest idea for someone starting out. But if both seem to have an audience and half your subs watch gameplay and the others DIY and vlogs, you could split them at that point. Overall, I say go for it!
Do whatever you want, but if it's a big departure from your normal stuff make sure you present it as additional content and not a replacement for your normal stuff.
Gaming is a very saturated market, so just keep that in mind. But yea, go for it!
Like others have said, do whatever you want. But if you do start gaming on your channel, try to make videos other than let's plays because honestly if you're new to the scene no one would watch your let's plays, they'd want something valuable (tips & tricks, tutorials, insightful thoughts & opinions, etc)
I told you to start a gaming channel before, because girl gamers get attention... but personally, I think gaming channels are boring, I click away withing 15 seconds 99% of the time.... I don't game, it's just someone playing a video game and talking.... it doesn't do anything for me.... If you don't think you're going to enjoy making the channel, if you want to get creative beyond playing a game and putting dialog behind it, you're not going to be satisfied... If you suspect you're not going to be satisfied, don't make the commitment. Go with a different topic
