Should I Stop Monetizing My Videos?

Hey guys,
So I'm on 96 subscribers at the point of writing this post, and I currently monetize my videos. I have always monetized my videos without fully understanding what it really was. Now I have found out that its for people that earn money off of their videos (which you can probably tell that at 96 subs, I'm not), I am thinking of demonetizing my videos. Should I or should I not?
Thanks,
~BeckyBoo

You probably should. If you ever get to a spot where you want to monetize your videos again, you already have it set up, so that should not be an issue. It is not a bad thing, it is just unexpected to the average viewer to get an ad on a small channel like yours. It may lead them to believe that you are doing YouTube just for ad revenue.

P.S. I would look into getting a new mic BTW. Your camera quality is good, but the mic sounds like a mic one would make at school (no offense). My condenser mic cost me $60 with a pop filter.

I would take them off for now if you're not making anything anyway there is no point so no point in possibly having people go away from you channel because of it. Then once you have more videos and are getting consistent views then you could put them back on.

Yeah everyone says that I need a new mic haha, Its just money problems and that the camera doesn't have a mic jack, so theres a problem there too :/ Thanks for the feedback though![DOUBLEPOST=1454452955,1454452923][/DOUBLEPOST]

You can record the mic in audacity, and sync the mic with the camera in editing.

Oh that's cool! I didn't know you could do that haha, I'm gonna try my best to either get a job and save up or spend the majority of my birthday money in may on a new mic, any suggestions for good cheap ones?

I would say keep it on as it will not effect you if its on or off. Videos with adverts can often make it seem like you are more popular as well. for example you don't expect to see an advert on youtube video from a channel with 10 subs, but you do from a channel with 10000+.

I was earning pennies a day for most of my first year. I'm still not earning a lot, but it all adds up. If you have a video that takes off you can quickly earn money. I would keep them monetized.
