I'm a small youtuber just starting out. I only do Youtube as a hobby (for now at least), and i'm wondering if I should join a network, the Freedom network to be more specific. I want to know if it's necessary, will it promote my channel, get more viewers? Are the tools helpful? Do they have good music? (but i mostly just want to know if I should in fact join and if it would help promote my channel.)

No, don't join a network. That don't really help you out when it comes to building your channel. Don't join freedom especially because they don't help either and just want to take your money. Just try and get an adsense account and build your account yourself.
